Feast of Love (2007)

“Sometimes you don’t know you’ve crossed a line until you’re already on the other side. Of course, by then it’s too late.” – Harry Stevenson

Number of Times Seen – Twice (15 Dec 2007 and 5 Mar 2022)

Brief Synopsis – The story of various relationships in a small town is explored as they each try and find true meaning in life and in love.

My Take on it – This is a film that I saw years ago and decided to refresh my memory about what it was all about.

They do a wonderful job blending together these various storylines into one that feels quiet coherent and connected even though each couple have their own path and structure.

The characters are developed really well and Greg Kinnear is superb as the lead character who is the common thread between them all.

The story shows how integral love can be in life and how it must be sustained and nurtured even after a long period of time together.

The trick apparently is to make sure that both sides are completely involved and want to be a part of things.

Besides Kinnear, this film features Radha Mitchell, Alexa Devalos, Selma Blair, Jane Alexander, Fred Ward and Morgan Freeman who each add so much to the way that things play out.

The story knows how to make the audience feel so much sympathy for the various characters as they each encounter some form of obstacle that makes it harder to commit to love.
