The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by me and we will be reviewing our favorite Oscar Nominated or Winning Movies.
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of Mar by sending them to andtheOscargoesto…@movierob.net
Try to think out of the box!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Oscar Nominated or Winning Movies……….
“For me the memory was vague; all I knew for sure is that it happened and I participated. ” – Jay Rosenblatt
Number of Times Seen – 1 (16 Mar 2022)
Brief Synopsis – A documentarian looks back at events form his youth and how they affected both him and his peers half a century later.
My Take on it – Very interesting idea that works so well largely due to the way it is presented. The way that the interviews are conducted says so much about the filmmakers style and this helps keep things so engaging throughout. The film deals with the way events from the distant past might still affect people so many years later or could possibly be repressed and forgotten over time.
Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The very end of the credits features more stop motion animation of the Dick photo on the playground as it quickly “walks” off-screen. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Absolutely! Such an innovative idea that is so powerful in its story and message about how our lives are molded through our experiences even from decades past.
Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10)
