“Benazir, come here, this time I will sing you a better song.” – Shaista
Number of Times Seen – 1 (26 Mar 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Story about Afghanistan refugees trying to make a better life for themselves.
My Take on it – Interesting documentary that is able to show the hardships that these people need to deal with in an every changing country. Their plight is shown quite well, but the problem is that they aren’t as compelling as one might hope for it to be. The story plays out in expected ways and that also shows how the world they live in moves in directions that are sometimes less powerful than one might expect.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – There is photo-shopped picture of Shaista standing with a building and gardens behind him. The building is from the Baha’i Terraces on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. The building is the Shrine of the Bab, one of the main religious figures of the Baha’i Faith. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not really. Nice idea, but doesn’t work well enough.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
