The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by Tyler of the Geek Card Check and we will be reviewing our favorite Sports Themed Movies.

Try to think out of the box!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Sports Themed Movies..
Number of Times Seen – 1 (7 Apr 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Documentary about a baseball Hall of Fame like no other.
My Take on it – As a baseball fan, I was intrigued to find this documentary and was pleasantly surprised with the way it is laid out. One of the biggest complaints over the years about fans (Of anything) is that usually, the fans have no say in who or what makes it into this Hall of Fame. The film shows that at least in Baseball, that is no longer true. The members of the group meet on an annual basis and vote for their favorite moments and players of America’s past time. The interviews are great and even include a director who has a very soft spot for this game itself.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – There’s a labor leader (Marvin Miller), umpires (Emmett Ashford and Pam Postema), a maverick owner (Bill Veeck), a surgeon (Dr. Frank Jobe), and even a chicken (The San Diego Chicken) in this Hall of Fame. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not really. Great idea and fun documentary, but not groundbreaking.
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
