Brief Synopsis – After her best friend gets engaged and chooses her to be the Maid of Honor, a former baker must try and figure out how to create the perfect wedding.
My Take on it – This is a hilarious film that I find funnier and funnier every time that I watch it.
They find a perfect way to create so many fun scenes and the fact that this is an all star female cast makes it even more shocking and funny to take in.
This is one of the few movies that is able to show that woman can also do raunchy comedy in a more intelligent way and still stay so engaging and fun the entire way through.
The cast is superb with Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy all bringing the best possible comedy to this kind of story line.
The chemistry and comic timing of everyone involved helps keep this feeling so poignant and impactful from start to finish.
The story crosses the line a few times but instead of feeling grossed out by any of it, they find a way to make it all seem so natural and hilarious at the same time.
As a fan of music form the 80’s and 90’s, I loved how they incorporated so much of that music here including the use of Wilson-Philips songs.
The film also has some great cameos along the way that help enhance the way that the story progresses.
Highly Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In the second bedroom scene between Annie and Ted, Annie tells Ted that she will take the fictional “George Glass” to Lillian’s wedding instead of him. “George Glass” was also the name of Jan Brady’s fictional boyfriend on The Brady Bunch (1969). (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (slight upgrade from original review)
