The Squeeze (1987)

“Human morality disintegrates at the fifty million dollar mark. ” – Ralph Vigo

Number of Times Seen – Twice (Cable in the 80’s and 25 Apr 2022)

Brief Synopsis – After receiving a mysterious package, a con-man’s life is turned even more upside down.

My Take on it – Strange film that doesn’t have much meat to it. This was made during Michael Keaton’s hey-day of fame, yet the character and scenario come across too bland even if it the overall premise definitely has much more promise to it. The supporting cats is also filled with some very talented actors like Rae Dawn Chong and Joe Pantoliano, yet neither is able to help make things more enjoyable to watch or even care about.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The VHS release of this film features the leading characters being “squeezed” between the two Twin Towers of the former World Trade Center. After the tragedy of 9/11, it was discussed at length that any future releases of the film, especially with DVD sales on the rise, should have both the towers omitted, however a DVD release of The Squeeze has, since 2017, not yet happened. In 2019, the film was released on Blu-Ray, retaining the original cover with the Twin Towers. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (4/10)
