Brief Synopsis – 6 strangers are invited to a dinner party in a secluded mansion and must try and figure out who killed their host mid-way through the evening.

My Take on it – Hilarious movie that is enhanced by the fast paced nature of things.

The cast is superb and this is probably one of Tim Curry’s best roles, if not his VERY best.

The story moves along at a great pace and the constant twists and turns enhance things even more.

The best part of this film tho is the script and dialogue because it is able to use speech in such a descriptive way that constantly keeps the characters and the audience on edge from start to finish.

The film also utilizes the idea that this is based on a popular board game so well and that keeps things so engaging throughout.

The idea to make three separate endings was such a clever idea when this came out and I’m surprised that no other film has taken this idea and used it ever since.

The choice to edit all 3 ending together on the video and DVD release was also great because of the way it all flows so well.

Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – According to an interview with writer and director Jonathan Lynn, after a screening on the 25th anniversary of this movie’s release, Carrie Fisher was originally cast as Miss Scarlet, until she ended up in rehab for drug addiction four days before filming started. Fisher called Lynn and agreed to a work furlough, which received approval of her clinicians and the producers, but was vetoed by the production’s insurance company, forcing Lynn to dismiss her from the project. Lesley Ann Warren was cast as a last-minute replacement. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10) (upgrade from original review)
