“Funny how historic days seem so ordinary when you’re living them. Well, perhaps that’s what happens when the world gets things right. It’s jolly nice to know it happens occasionally.” – Albus Dumbledore
Number of Times Seen – 1 (16 May 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Newt and his allies must try and stop Grindelwald from taking over the Magic Ministry and waging war on the humans.
My Take on it – This is a film that I was quite excited to finally see and was not disappointed at all.
The story moves in great circular movements that helps keep things feeling fresh and unique the whole way through.
Love the way that they once again bring back many of the known characters and do an amazing job planning the story while also throwing in lots of red herrings along the way that will keep the viewer guessing.
The special effects are once again superb and I love many of the creatures featured here, new and old alike.
The plot gets quite convoluted and complex as things move forward, but once things begin to unfold, it’s easier to see the grand picture of how it all is meant to play out here.
As the title suggests, Jude Law as Dumbledore plays an even larger part in this story, but it’s still nice to see Newt continuing to lead the way even with the guidance of his mentor.
Can’t wait to see where the plans for the next two movies in the series take these characters, but we’ll have to wait patiently for that to happen.
Recpommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The character Vicência Santos is played by Maria Fernanda Cândido, a renowned Brazilian actress. In one of her scenes the script called for something stronger due to the spell the character was performing, but Cândido suggested to director David Yates that the character, being more centered, would perform the magic more calmly and wave her wand in a circular way. Yates allowed her to film this way and liked the result so much that it went to the final cut. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
