“I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.” – Bryan Mills

Brief Synopsis – After he hears his daughter getting kidnapped over the phone, a government agents travels to France to find her.
My Take on it – Such a simple concept that works so well here. Liam Neeson created a new persona for his career with this role and it still remains the best of them all. The dialogue is crisp and quick and that helps throughout. They also expertly keep things in constant motion and aren’t afraid to have an action film that clocks in at just 90 minutes. They made two sequels to this film, but they don;t even come close to being as powerful as this one is.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Liam Neeson expected the film to bomb, but he signed on in order spend four months in Paris and learn karate, while playing the kind of role he had rarely been offered in the past. Ironically, not only was the film a massive hit, but created a new on-screen image for Neeson as an action hero. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10) (no change from original review)
