“Congratulations. You are still alive. Most people are so ungrateful to be alive. But not you. Not anymore.” – John
Number of Times Seen – 1 (12 Jun 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Two people wake up in an abandoned room and must find a way to save themselves by playing the games of a malicious killer.
My Take on it – I am not a fan of horror films at all and have avoided watching any of the movies in this series for almost 20 years.
I finally decided to take the plunge and see what it was all about after being told that it’s a great mystery film besides having some gruesome scenes.
I was shocked by how much I actually enjoyed this low budget film that mostly tales place in one room.
The film has a deep psychological turn to oit and that, along with the riddles and games made it so enthralling to watch unfold.
Yes, I had to turn my head away a few times due to the gore, but the fact that the story stays compelling all of the way until the final frame was so fascinating to take in because it remains so engaging and entertaining the entire way through.
The cast is great and I loved seeing Cary Elwes in this kind of role because it is so very different from the kind of roles one has expected him to take on.
The movie is shot in a realistic way that also can make the viewer believe that they are right there watching things transpire with the characters the entire time.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In order to make the actors feel what the characters were going through, all of the bathroom scenes were shot in chronological order. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
