“Those who do not appreciate life do not deserve life.” – John
Number of Times Seen – 1 (12 Jun 2022)
Brief Synopsis – After the notorious killer Jigsaw challenges a detective to play a deadly game, he must find a way to save 8 people trapped in a room filled with traps.
My Take on it – After enjoying the first film in the series, I decided to work my way slowly thru the rest of them by watching one a day.
I loved the way that the film feels similar, yet very distinct from the first film.
The choice of Donnie Wahlberg in the lead is great because he knows really well how to play a character who we never know what to believe because both sides of the coin seem plausible.
This adds even more suspense to the story since we don’t know until the end what the truth is.
the games, riddles and twists that these characters must go thru is once again quite compelling and enhances the story even more.
As with the previous film, the gore was a bit too much for me, and I did avert my eyes numerous times, but since I knew going in that this would be the case, I was prepared.
This film wasn’t as good as the original, but it definitely is a very solid sequel that works both as a continuation and as a stand alone story.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – To conceal the ending, most of the actors were not given the last 25 pages of the script. Only the principal actors involved in the sequence knew. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
