“Live or die, Jeff. Make our choice. ” – Jigsaw
Number of Times Seen – 1 (13 Jun 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Jigsaw forces a doctor to try and save his life while his protege puts a stranger through a deadly test.
My Take on it – I once again decided to continue with my slow quest to watch all of the films in this series.
This movie does a great job of taking characters that the audience is already familiar with and change things around a bit in order to keep things fresh and innovative the whole way through.
The various tests and riddles that the two main characters are compelled to partake in are once again quite innovative and intriguing which adds even more to the way things play out.
The way that the story jumps back and forth between various characters and scenarios is also great especially as the audience is constantly awaiting the clue that will (or wont) connect any or all of these storylines.
The gore level was once again too high for me, but I still managed to not look when those scenes were happening which worked for me.
I am still quite shocked at how much of a psychological thriller this series has turned out to be instead of it being a pointless slasher flick like I was expecting from the very start.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The producers of this film asked the producers of Scary Movie 4 (2006) if they could use their bathroom set for this film as it was an exact replica of the sets used in Saw (2004) and Saw II (2005). They were given permission to use it. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
