“She’s gone! Oh my God, she used me. I was used. I was used! Cool! ” – Jim
Number of Times Seen – Between 3-5 times (7 Jan 2001, DVD and 14 Jun 2022)
Brief Synopsis –Four high school seniors make a pact to lose their virginity before the end of the school year.
My Take on it – This is the film that restarted it all.
The late 70’s and early 80’s were filled with lots of teenage sex comedies but by the end of the decade, the quality just wasn’t there any more.
This film has a great cast of characters who are all very different yet it’s conceivable that they would be friends and make a pact like this one.
The film gets very raunchy in certain parts, but it’s all done for the humor of it all and it works really well.
The cast is also great with some very familiar actors who went on to have great careers (even if some got stuck in this genre for quite a while.)
Despite being quite predictable in certain aspects of the story, they still manage to bring in some nice twists and turns along the way that add to the fun of it all.
This film obviously has some great and iconic scenes that are still funny to watch (and rewatch) after more than 2 decades.
This film has 8 sequels (5 are pseudo sequels), yet none reach the level of humor or fun that this one manages to achieve.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Alyson Hannigan went to her callback audition really having to pee. She ran to the bathroom and her name was called right after she got out. She went in without having calmed down so she read the part really quirky and with an over amount of energy. She credits that to her getting the part. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
