Countdown to 9K (#3 of 9) – American Wedding (2003)

“Wow, Steve Stifler just gave a rose to a girl and meant it. It’s like, monkeys learning to use tools for the first time.” – Michelle

Number of Times Seen – At least Twice (26 Mar 2004 and 14 Jun 2022)

Brief Synopsis – The gang must work together in order to make the wedding of Jim and Michelle as perfect as ever.

My Take on it – Nice ‘end’ to this trilogy because it takes the characters to the expected point of graduating from teen angst to wedding bliss.

They still never lose the right level of fun and raunch to help keep things nice and enjoyable to watch unfold.

The comedy of errors that this series is known for plays out quite well here as these characters seek out ways to keep the wedding on despite clashes with family and friends on the way to the alter.

They do a nice job of tying up most of plot threads from the first three films and this would have been the perfect place to end it all before the decision was made to make pseudo-sequels/spin-offs.

It was fun seeing most of the original cast back for some great humor even though things start to feel a bit too overused with these characters and scenarios.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In the scene when Michelle hits her head under the table while she is pleasuring Jim. Alyson Hannigan was actually using her hand to make the bump noise, but after 30 takes she couldn’t do it anymore due to her hand was in pain and getting very swollen. The crew wound up giving her a rubber mallet to make the hits to the table. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
