Countdown to 9K (#4 of 9) – American Pie Presents – Band Camp (2005)

“[to Stifler] When school starts you’re going to be on a very short leash. Remember, the Shermanator sees all. ” – Sherman

Number of Times Seen – 1 (14 Jun 2022)

Brief Synopsis – Stifler’s little brother is sent to Band Camp after an incident in school and must help the school’s team win a competition against another school’s band.

My Take on it – This was a horrendous sequel to a trilogy that worked quite well in doing what it set out to do.

This film has a razor thin plot and fails to have any likable characters no matter how hard they try.

The story is far too crazy and makes very little sense along the way as they unsuccessfully try to attempt to breathe new life into this series.

The cast is filled with completely unknown actors and there are even some in their late 20’s playing high schoolers and that adds to the silliness of it all.

The raunchiness is the only aspect of this film that even resembles anything from the original trilogy and that adds to the fun of this kind of film, but without a coherent plot or likeable characters there isn’t much to seek out here.

The best part of this film is the use of Eugene Levy once again who continues to be so perfectly cast in this film despite having a completely new cast.

I also liked how they managed to shoe horn his character into the plot.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – After the wild success of American Pie 2, producers originally wanted this project to be a Stifler spin-off/stand-alone starring Seann William Scott to follow American Wedding. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
