Brief Synopsis – Three scientist are brought to a secluded island in order to give their opinions on a groundbreaking new technology.
My Take on it – Such an amazing movie that works on so many levels.
The technology described in the film was so advanced for its time and over the past 3 decades, things have advanced so much partially due to the impact of science fiction on reality.
The story itself is told in a thrilling way and is able to stay engaging from start to finish.
The characters are developed really well and they allow for the debate on the subject matter to constantly stay so enjoyable and realistic to take in.
The cast is superb with Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough and Laura Dern doing a great job letting us get to know their characters while also making the viewer care so much about what happens to them.
The special effects of this film were so advanced for its time and that adds so much to the realistic feel of it all.
The music by John Williams is superb and adds an epic feel to the way that things play out.
Steven Spielberg has created such an amazing film that stands the test of time.
Highly Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – As the story takes place on an island near Costa Rica, the filmmakers originally considered filming in Costa Rica. This idea was quickly abandoned when they realized that the Costa Rican government would not allow them to build roads to get to their filming locations. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (no change from original review)
