The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by me and we will be reviewing our favorite Family Vacation Movies.
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of Aug by sending them to FamilyVacation@movierob.net
Try to think out of the box!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Family Vacation Movies.
“[to his kids, played by the fourth different set of actors in as many “Vacation” movies] You guys are growing up so fast, I hardly recognize you anymore! ” – Clark Griswold
Number of Times Seen – 3 Times (25 Nov 2007, 25 Jul 2014 and 19 Aug 2022)

Brief Synopsis – Clark takes the family on a vacation to Las Vegas where things are never as they expect.
My Take on it – Another fun addition to the series even if it is the weakest of all of them. The story isn’t as enjoyable as the previous outings, yet they do find ways to keep it engaging and more importantly funny as everything that can go wrong, does go wrong, for the first family of comedy of errors while on vacation. The alternative casino scene is hilarious and works really well within the atmosphere of this film.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The directions the receptionist gives the Griswolds to their rooms are accurate for the Mirage Casino. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not really. The weakest of the films in the series, yet it still has it’s moments along the way.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10) (no change from original review)
