“He was a rare bird.” – Blake Edwards

Brief Synopsis – Biography about the life and career of actor William Holden.
My Take on it – Great overview of the life and career of one of the top stars in Hollywood during the 1950’s.
They have some very informative interviews with people who worked with Holden during some of his most powerful films.
This film also doesn’t sugarcoat any of the aspects of his life that were somewhat scandalous and that actually enhances this film even more because it allows for the viewer to know that even great actors like Holden are human.
The insight into his work as an actor is described by some of the directors who helped make and keep him as a star for many years.
The movie even gains some insight about Holden from his son who explains about his father’s life on and off screen and that is the most eye opening of the various interviews.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – During the Sidney Lumet interview, there is a picture of Luis Guzmán on a cork board behind the director. This interview was filmed as Sidney Lumet was working on the film Q&A (1990) which Luis Guzmán worked on. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
