“[to Gerry before he goes off to meet Nora for a late night rendezvous on Christmas Eve] Hey, Santa. Don’t hurt yourself going down the chimney. ” – Quinn Fitzgerald
Number of Times Seen – 1 (5 Sep 2022)
Brief Synopsis – A large Irish family tries to get together for Christmas but their busy lives doesn’t make it easy at all.
My Take on it – Another great film by Ed Burns.
I have always enjoyed his films due to the way that he is able to create memorable and familiar characters that seem so real.
This film is no exception to that and despite having numerous siblings with their own story threads, Burns is able to keep it all wrangled in as things play out.
The dialogue is great and it makes it all feel so realistic because they never even attempt to sugar coat things and show the way these characters live their live, warts and all.
The cats is quite talented and they all help make things work even better.
Recommended!
