Brief Synopsis – After 7000 stranded passengers land in Gander, Newfoundland on 9/11, the locals find a way to host all of these new visitors.
My Take on it – Such and amazing musical that works on so many levels.
Up until a year ago, I had never even heard of it and despite it being an award winning play, I scoffed at the premise at first, but was easily drawn in once thinsg began to move.
The songs and choreography are amazing here and this adds so much to the ebb and flow of the story.
The choice to have actors play multiple characters also works really well especially since it is able to give each actor multiple personalities that are easily identifiable as the story progresses.
The music is breath taking and they are so poignant in all that they are trying to tell us about trying to fly bright spots even on some of the darkest days in history.
I can listen to this music over and over and never get bored and the lyrics of the sound remain profound each and every time.
Once again, I can’t wait to watch this again soon and it’s no wonder that it’s my favorite film of 2021.
I would love to find a way to watch this on the stage…
Highly Highly Recommended!
