Braddock: Missing in Action 3 (1988) – 9300th Movie Watched and Reviewed!!!

“Walk or crawl, we’re gonna make it! ” – Col. James Braddock

Number of Times Seen – 2-3 times (cable in the 80’s and 15 Sep 2022)

Brief Synopsis – Braddock returns to Vietnam in order to free his wife and son who have been held captive since the fall of Saigon.

My Take on it – Silliest and most boring of the trilogy.

Chuck Norris seems far out of his element in this role even though he already played this character twice before.

The plot has lots of holes in it and there are some very inconsistencies with the time lines in the previous two movies.

The action scenes feel tamer than they should be and the attempt to humanize Norris’ character even more also doesn’t add much to the way things play out.

The choice to have a nearly ten minute torture scene is an interesting one, but it isn’t as effective as it could have been due to the way that it is presented.

The action scenes are ok, but even though Chuck Norris was only 48 when this came out, he looks older and slower than one might have expected from the character.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – During this production shoot on location in the Philipines, a Philipine Air Force helicopter hired by the Cannon Film Group, crashed into Manila Bay killing four Filipino soldiers and wounding five other people. Curiously enough, this accident occurred the same day the “Twilight Zone Tragedy” verdict was handed down in Los Angeles Superior Court. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
