“In this world, there are heroes and there are villains. Heroes don’t kill people! ” – Hawkman
Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Nov 2022)
Brief Synopsis – A champion of the God’s is released from his thousands year old captivity in order to protect his homeland and free the people.
My Take on it – Fun addition to the DC Universe as it adds something so new and innovative to the overall story.
I really enjoyed the fact that this character and story is focused on a special geographic area which helps give it a very unique feel.
It’s about time that The Rock entered the superhero realm and this is the perfect role for him to embody.
The film has great action throughout and it is relentless and unwavering throughout.
The special effects are superbly done and that also adds so much to the way that things play out.
The story itself is a bit weak, but since it is part of a much greater puzzle being created by the DC Universe, only time will tell how it all fits in the that greater storyline.
The supporting cats is also great and despite most of the additional superheroes being ‘minor’ ones, they still help keep things enjoyable.
Loved seeing Pierce Brosnan as a superhero here and he plays the character of Dr. Fate really well.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The idea of a team of superheroes first came about with the Justice Society of America and their debut in All Star comics #3 in 1940. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
