Running the Bases (2022)

“The world will tell you it’s about winning, but I expect us to become a family.” – Luke Brooks

Number of Times Seen – 1 (2 Nov 2022)

Brief Synopsis – A talented baseball player with a medical condition must resolve himself to be a coach and his unique style of coaching causes ripples in the new town where he and his family have moved.

My Take on it – This film has a great premise despite the fact that it leans too heavily on the issues of faith and belief.

They are great themes, but it feels a bit too heavy handed throughout and the story would have worked even better had it been toned down a bit.

The movie feels like it could be truly based on a real story and they find some interesting ways to show how faith and devotion can lead to hidden answers to the biggest questions people can sometime shave.

The way that the story leans on the game of baseball is done well and that helps keep the story moving because they find numerous ways to connect the themes of teamwork and faith together.

There are a few far reaching connections over the course of the film, but taking into consideration what they are trying to achieve here, it helps keep things flowing in a much smoother fashion.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Filmed in Harrison, Arkansas in Spring 2021. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
