“What’s this doing in Mexico?” – Tad Jones
Number of Times Seen – 1 (17 Nov 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Tad inadvertently causes problems for his friend Mummy and must do all he can to save him.
My Take on it – Once again, it was fun meeting up with these characters, but the story drags along a bit too much this time.
The animation is great and helps keep things enjoyable to watch, but the characters and some of the themes don’t allow for things to be taken more seriously which is a problem because of the kind of potential that this kind of story holds.
There are lots of fun aspects of the story and they are also able to bring things around full circle as they wind down the story, but it still isn’t enough to help make this even more enjoyable to watch unfold.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Iker Jiménez, famous Spanish journalist and supernatural investigator who created and hosted the TV show Cuarto milenio (2005), voices in cameo an animated version of himself. For the English release the character, voiced by Joseph Balderrama, was changed to an animated version of Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, another journalist and also supernatural investigator famous after his TV show Ancient Aliens (2009). Altough Jiménez and Tsoukalos don’t share a great physical resemblance, the design of the character allowed the change of identity with no problem. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
