January is my birthday month, so I decided that I would try and do something quite unique and special for this milestone in my life. In the past, I’ve watched and reviewed some of my favorites movies, but this time, I will be doing something different. This year, I will be turning 49, so I decided to watch 50 new movies (49+1 for good luck) (one for each year) that I’ve never seen from the year before my birth (1973) until today in a random order over the course of this month. …
Hope you enjoy!
This is film #50 of the 50.
Let’s continue with…
“Something’s bad wrong with me, and I keep thinking about that blue diamond.” – Buddy
Number of Times Seen – 1 (31 Jan 2023)
Brief Synopsis – A woman with the gift of clairvoyance tries to help the police solve a murder.
My Take on it – This is a film that I had much higher hopes for and was pretty disappointed that even with such a stellar cast, things weren’t more powerful. The story unfortunately drags on a bit too much and they gloss over far too much of the development of any of the characters. This makes it even harder to care about any of them or even want to root for them also. The mystery is done well despite the fact that they don’t leave enough clues along the way in order to help the viewer try and figure out what truly is going on.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Based on Billy Bob Thornton’s own mother’s reputed psychic abilities. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
