“[voice-over, introducing M] This is my best friend. By best friend, I mean we occasionally grunt and stare awkwardly at each other. We even have almost conversations sometimes. ” – R.

Brief Synopsis – During a Zombie epidemic, one Zombie starts to feel love when he meets a human girl.
My Take on it – Who woulda thought that a movie like this could be made?
I sure wouldn’t have guessed it.
This movie was recommended to me by the lovely Table9Mutant at Cinema Parrot Disco and she was VERY right that I would enjoy this one.
The premise itself is genius: just find a way to adapt Romeo & Juliet to a post apocalyptic Zombie world.
Simple enough, right?
This movie is told from the perspective of the Zombie (which was pretty smart since he can’t talk and therefore we can still hear his thoughts.)
I have read comparisons between this and other Tween movies like the Twilight series and the difference here is that this one doesn’t take itself seriously at all. (Which makes it even better)
There is even a scene here where the characters pass by a Zombie who looks EXACTLY like Rick from TWD and it was pretty funny that they did that. (No, I didn’t notice that on my own, but when I read about it, I rewound the movie to find that scene and it was great.)
This isn’t your typical gory Zombie, flesh eating movie, so anyone looking for that kinda movie should probably stay away.
The story is done well and within the world it takes place in, they at least make it seem plausible within their own constraints.
I have always enjoyed modern adaptations of Shakespeare (like West Side Story (1961) for instance) and was pleasantly surprised that this was so much fun.
Thanks again to T9M for the recommendation!
Bottom Line – Great idea for a movie! very fun movie that takes the whole Zombie craze to a whole new level. Nice adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy

Good review Rob. It was funny, sweet and slightly original enough in its own right to be an okay rom-com. Nothing less, nothing more.

It’s an extremely likeable film. If i had kids i’d rather they watched something like this than Twilight etc.

Yay! So glad you enjoyed this one! I love Warm Bodies. It’s funny though–when I heard about the book, I was incredibly skeptical. Sounded like the worst idea in the world. But then I saw the film and thought it was great, and now I kind of want to read the book! Good review! 🙂

Glad you enjoyed this one. : ) I thought you might! Hard to believe they were able to make a zombie romance movie but it really did work! So much fun. : )
