I saw this idea on Film Grimoire and decided to try it out for myself. Thanks Anna! (and of course thanks to The Drama Llama for thinking this one up in the first place.)
Here I go….
Anticipating Movie of 2014 –
——————Interstellar (duh. of course!!!!) and the final Hobbit movie
Book Adaptation I’d Love To See –
——————One that hasn’t been done? The Long Walk by Richard Bachman or any Vince Flynn (RIP) novel.
——————Or one that hasn’t been done right? Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy. Loved the book, hated what Babs did to it.
Celebrity I’d Most Like To Meet –
——————None, wouldn’t want to burst the bubble on what I think of any of them. On the other hand, if we were talking about movie characters, there are numerous I’d love to meet!
Dream Director-Actor Pairing –
——————Christopher Nolan and Kevin Kline (The most versatile actor around)
Essential Classic Film –
——————The Best Years of our Lives (1946)
Favorite Film Franchise –
——————Star Wars (Both trilogies) and Lord of the Rings are tied
Genre I Watch The Most –
——————Thrillers
Hidden Gem –
——————Beautiful Girls (1996) and Nobody’s Fool (1994)

Netflix Movie I Actually Watched –
——————Don’t get Netflix here in Israel, so I can’t answer this one.
One Movie I Saw In Theaters More Than Once –
——————I saw Return of the Jedi (1983) 17 times in the theater. I used to be able to count off which whom I saw each one and when. Ah, The glory days of youth!!!!
Preferred Place To Watch A Movie – (Cinema or at home)
——————Home. No longer have the luxury of seeing as many movies as I use to in the theater, so I’m perfectly fine watching at home.
Quote that Inspires Me –
——————“That’s part of your problem: you haven’t seen enough movies. All of life’s riddles are answered in the movies.” – Davis (played by Steve Martin) [Grand Canyon (1991)]
Remakes (Friend or Foe?)
——————Foe. Just because something worked (or didn’t work) once, doesn’t mean you can create success from used material. Hollywood is in DIRE need of original thinkers.
Snack I Enjoy Most –
—————— Juju’s and Mike ‘N Ikes
Thrilling Movie That Blows My Mind –
——————Speed (1994) – It’s one of the best thrillers ever made and literally keeps you on the edge of your seat for the whole 2 hours.
Unapologetic Fanperson –
——————For 80’s flicks
Very Excited For Award Show Season?
——————Always!! As I said earlier, I always watch the Oscars live and it starts by us at 3:30am. In the 22 years that I live here, I have only missed it once live when my cable went out in 2003. I had a friend in the states call me every commercial break to update me.
Wish I Never Watched…
——————I can’t think of a single movie that I wished I hadn’t seen. Even the bad ones are part of my movie loving experience!
XXX Movie I First Watched At A Young Age – (R or NC-17!)
——————Risky Business (1983) and Porky’s (1982)
Your latest movie-related obsession –

——————I fell asleep watching Citizen Kane (1941) when I saw it in 2007, (think I need to re-watch it because it can’t really be THAT bad)

Completely agreed on Citizen Kane. It might be brilliant, and I just don’t get it. But that movie puts me to sleep every time I try to watch it.
Kevin Kline and Christopher Nolan? I can get behind that. Could also go for Kevin Kline and the Coens. 🙂
Al in all, a good list!

Yeah, I hear ya on the Coen brother and KK. What I love about KK is that he looks slightly different in EVERY one of his movies. He’s not like Harrison Ford who looks the same and acts the same everywhere (‘cept SW and Indiana Jones) 🙂
One of these days, I’ll re-watch Citizen Kane (1941), maybe next time I’ll understand it. It bothers me that I think of that movie like I think of The Tree of Life (2010) (WHICH I TRULY HATED!!!) because it just made no sense to me.
Thanks for commenting JJ

On Harrison Ford: and 42. That was a very different look, sound and role for him. Which is why he’s the best part of a less than sensational biopic.
Honestly, I’ve never finished Citizen Kane, so I don’t know if it makes sense. I’ve gotten at most forty, forty-five minutes in before I quit, all four times I’ve tried watching it. It might well be the greatest movie ever, but my life doesn’t feel unfulfilled having not finished it. 🙂

true about 42. That’s his one movie that he wasn’t recognizable. (you caught me) 🙂
ditto about Citizen Kane. I don’t have high hopes that re-watching it will change anything, but we’ll just have to wait and see 🙂
