Number of Times Seen – 1 (28 Nov 2019)
Brief Synopsis – Elsa and Anna must travel to an enchanted forest in order to uncover the truth about the past.
My Take on it – This is a film that has been hyped for the past few years and finally gives us a chance to revisit Arendalle and the characters who we have come to know who inhabit that far away land.
They do a nice job here but as good and as fun as this film is, it still is far from being able to eclipse the original film on so many levels.
The songs and musical score aren’t as memorable as the one sin the past film.
The story isn’t as bold and original and the characters all seem as if they haven’t moves on too far from where they were in the first film.
The voice cast of the film all return and find a way to let us revisit these characters a few years after we last left them.
Their lives have evolved a bit since then, but not enough to make things feel fresh and anew.
The best character still remains Olaf who is funny and poignant the whole way through.
The adventure that these characters take inn this film is good and the various surprises and mystery of it all works despite being somewhat predictable along the way.
Bottom Line – Good sequel that builds on the previous film yet doesn’t manage to eclipse it in any factor. The music isn’t as memorable, the story is a bit weaker and the characters are pretty much the same yet it’s still nice to revisit Arendelle once again. The voice cast all come back and allow us to meet these characters again following the events of the previous film along with the changes that were made based on their previous adventure. The new adventure that they embark on is filled with mystery and surprises along the way and works for what it tries to do. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In the beginning when young Anna and Elsa are playing with snow figurines, a figure resembling Baymax from “Big Hero 6” can be spotted in addition to one resembling Totoro from “My Neighbor Totoro” (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
