Sioux City (1994)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“I’d like to report a possible murder.”  Jesse Rainfeather Goldman

Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 May 2020)

Brief Synopsis – A Jewish doctor who was adopted as a child from an Indian reservation, returns to his birthplace to try and discover his roots and ends up getting involved in a murder conspiracy.

Bottom Line – Really strange and boring film that fails to work at all. Lou Diamond Philips is a great actor, but he isn’t given enough to do here with the character.  This is especially true since he also directed this film. The story itself isn’t engaging enough and fails to find a way to stay interesting which is a shame.  The conspiracy of the story isn;t very effective either and things are far too simple and straight forward here.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – One of two films directed by actor Lou Diamond Phillips in 1994. The other film was Dangerous Touch (1994). (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (4/10)
