Pulling A Bone (1931)

“I’d like a coffee without cream.”- Man With Bone

“Oh, I’m sorry sir, but we’re all out of cream.” – Gracie

Number of Times Seen – 1 (11 Aug 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A man walks in to a department store and tries to get help getting a bone out of his throat.

My Take on it – This is another short film with George Burns and Gracie Allen and despite not being as funny as some of their other shorts, it still works.

The dialogue in these shorts is always what really clinches things and once again they show how great they are as comedy writers because the conversations flow so well and it is so fascinating to watch the way they work together.

One of the great things about their interactions is that they have great timing together and the discussions they have jump around to so many various topics which adds to the realism of things because it doesn’t feel as scripted as it might perceive to be.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – First film of Dorothy Adams. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
