Brief Synopsis – Two bounty hunters wit a dangerous prisoner come to a tavern during a blizzard and must try and figure out if the various inhabitants have ulterior motives or not.
My Take on it – Another superb film by Quentin Tarantino that works so well.
Almost the entire film takes place in one location, yet it still stays so fascinating and mesmerizing to watch unfold.
The cast is superb and is filled with lots of Tarantino regulars like Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen and Zoe Bell.
They are also joined by Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walter Goggins, Demián Bichir and Channing Tatum.
The film is filled with lots of twists and turns and is moved along by the superb dialogue and conversations between the various characters.
Always love the way that characters are almost entirely expendable in Tarantino films and this one is no exception especially when they manage to keep it all so surprising with new and innovative ways for things to occur… and for characters to die along the way.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Tarantino told The Telegraph he wrote The Hateful Eight to reflect America’s fraught racial history, with the splitting of the cabin into northern and southern sides and a speech about the perils of “frontier justice”. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10) (no change from original review)
