The Cemetery Club (1993)

This a Covid-19 2021 minireview!

“I refuse to be in a club where half the members are dead.” – Lucille Rubin

Number of Times Seen – 1 (25 Sep 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A group of friends meet every week to discuss life that has long passed and life that is still meant to be.

Bottom Line – Great premise that just doesn’t work despite the great cast. Loved seeing Ellen Burstyn, Olympia Dukakis and Diane Ladd here together with Danny Aiello, but something feels missing the whole way through that would have made things more engaging and enjoyable.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The music store used for Moskowitz Music is called Spratt Music, and it is outside of Pittsburgh, in Brentwood, PA. The Moskowitz sign created for the movie is still displayed in the window of the store as of 2000. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
