Brief Synopsis – A new teacher at a prep school in new England has a unique influence on his students.
My Take on it – Amazing film that shows how great an actor Robin Williams truly was. This is by far one of the very best films dealing with the kind of influence a teacher can have on his pupils. They find some very innovative ways to tell the stories of the various characters and it all comes across in such a profound way. The chemistry between the various characters is ecstatic throughout and that helps keep the viewer cheering for them all. The story never wavers from being a pure drama and never loses its focus despite some scenes filled with humor. The music by Maurice Jarre is quite captivating and helps set the tone for things along the way. The story is told in a very inspirational way which resonates no matter how often one has seen the movie. The supporting cast helps add so much more depth to the story and Ethan Hawk, Robert Sean Leonard, Josh Charles, Kurtwood Smith and Norman Lloyd all excel here.
Highly Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Director Peter Weir chose to shoot the film in chronological order to better capture the development of the relationships between the boys and their growing respect for Mr. Keating. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (no change from original review)
