“Sometimes the truth isn’t believable. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not true.” – Christian Longo
Number of Times Seen – 1 (21 Jul 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A reporter discovers that a suspected serial killer is using his identity and tries to uncover the truth. Based on a true story
My Take on it – This movie fits into the long list of movies featuring reporters trying to uncover the truth when dealing with an incarcerated suspect.
This movie is based on true evrnts and both lead actors give us great performances.
Both Jonah Hill and James Franco are excellent actors and the scenes where they are engaged in deep conversation with one another really draws us in because we also are interested and invested in trying to discover the truth.
This isn’t a movie that can really be classified as a thriller, but the way the story is told gives us some great psychological thriller scenes to watch because everything is constantly in motion and changing as the story unfolds
Bottom Line – Very interesting true story that is also a psychological thriller because the truth is never apparent and everything constantly is in motion. Hill and Franco are both excellent and the conversations they both have keep us glued to the story being told because we truly care to find out the truth. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The fingerprint pattern on the movie poster is actually made up of the word “LIES” repeated over and over. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

Good review. Quick. Flows nicely. I’ve been waiting for this one. The concept is strong. Performances look impressive. I’m glad to hear the thriller elements are exciting. I like it when our intellect is stimulated in this manner, rather than easy action. I like your rating sysyem. Globe worthy eh? So I’m guessing Oscars are above that 😉 Is it the film overall, or performances that are nomination worthy?

Oscars above Globes, eh? You’re gonna start a nerd war, buddy 😉 Sometimes I think the Globes take more risks. Another debate is how much media attention affects the nomination process. But I digress. Hehe. Nice rating system though. I can dig it.
