Rage (2014)

Drew actually admitted to me that his evil morning self wanted me to suffer as much as he did with this movie and chose it for me.

I had no expectations of liking this at all and was extremely glad when it was finally over.

Number of Times Seen – 1 (17 Aug 2015)

Brief Synopsis – After his daughter is kidnapped, an man with former ties to the underworld tries to figure out who took her and why in order to save her.

My Take on it – I have a feeling that after the writers saw how good of a reception Taken (2008) got, they wrote this movie with Liam Neeson in mind for the title role.

Fortunately for him, he must have hated the script and passe don it, so they turned to Nicholas Cage who will take any role no matter how bad it is and he obviously accepted.

For close to 100 minutes, I got the impression that Cage was trying to channel Neeson in this role but failed completely.

Cage does a terrible job in this movie and is actually quite laughable in many scenes.

The story goes nowhere quite fast and stays there the entire time.

Bottom Line – This felt like a movie that was written for Liam Neeson, but even he passe don this, so Cage took over.  Cage is completely laughable as the title character and this movie goes nowhere quite fast over the nearly 100 minute run time.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The Mustang Nicolas Cage drives is the same paint scheme, gun-metal gray with black racing stripes, as Eleanor, the 1967 Mustang GT500 which is a major part in the remake of Gone in Sixty Seconds. Which also stars Cage. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy
