Number of Times Seen – 1 (19 May 2016)
Brief Synopsis – Th origin story of how Diana Prince became Wonder Woman and help fight injustice in the world.
My Take on it – Asa kid, I used to watch the Wonder Woman TV show reruns starring Lynda Carter and Lyle Waggoner and thoroughly enjoyed every episode despite it’s 70’s cheesyness.
They do a great job here re-imagining the Wonder woman origin story and in the short 75 minute move we get to see all of the important facts about the character and by the end are ready to move forward with her.
Nathna Fillion (of Firefly and Castle) is great in the role of Steve Trevor because he gets the sarcasm just right. Keri Russell is great as Wonder Woman because we get to hear the awe and amazement in her voice as she experiences new things in the real world.
The rest of the voice cast is also top notch with Alfred Molina, Oliver Platt, Marg Helgenberger, Rosario Dawson and more lending their voices to help create a newer and more realistic reality within the world they occupy.
Really am looking forward to how this will be taken forward in subsequent animated movies.
Bottom Line – Pretty good origin story that establishes much of what is needed to know about Wonder Woman and her alter-ego, Diana Prince. The character of Steve Trevor is created well and Fillion does a wonderful job giving him life. Great voice cast also helps make this seem even more realistic. Can’t wait to see her team up with other characters in the DC/WB animated movies. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Throughout the movie, Wonder Woman is referred to as such only once, towards the end, by a little kid who she taught sword fighting. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
