Echo Boomers (2020)

“Breaking into someone’s house would make anyone feel violated. But messing with a kid’s room… that’s what messed the parents up the most when they’d come home. ” – Lance Zutterland

Number of Times Seen – 1 (27 Jul 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A group of college students devise a plan to steal from the richest members of the community and help themselves.

My Take on it –This is another film that I had never heard of before seeing it on a list of films starring Michael Shannon, who’s filmography I’m trying to expand my knowledge of.

The plot is an interesting idea that fails to work on any level.

Te story itself is told in a very bland and boring fashion and doesn’t allow for things to make much sense.

This film is based on a true story, but it still isn’t able to be more profound in what it tries to give the viewer.

None of the characters are developed on a deep level and they all seem like normal stereotypes for this kind of caper film.

The characters also fail to have any real chemistry with one another and that makes it even harder to believe that they were able to band together in order to commit the crimes they set out here to do.

The cast is also ok, yet none of them manage to stand out among the rest in all that they do here.

Loved seeing Michael Shannon in this film even if his character isn’t the most sympathetic that one could hope for, yet he still plays things in the most realistic and ‘in your face’ way of any of these characters.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Alex Pettyfer and Gilles Geary also stared together in The I-land. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (4/10)
