The Morning After (1986)

index1“Honey, I’m a drag queen, not a transvestite. I don’t buy no house dresses.” – Frankie

Number of Times Seen – at least 2 (video and 2 Sep 2013)

Brief Synopsis – An aspiring actress wakes up one morning next to a dead man and can’t remember what happened the night before. She enlist the help of an ex-cop to help her try to figure it out.

My Take on it – I recall seeing this in the 80’s at least once and having re-watched it, I now remember that it was a typical 80’s thriller. The music, the fashion and the acting was all done in a very 1980’s style.

The story and plot aren’t overly complicated and it’s always nice to see actors before they hit their prime (Jeff Bridges and Raul Julia).  Jane Fonda actually played her part very well, because when she changes her identity half-way thru the movie, you also see that her persoanlity changes with it.

Not a movie I would watch often (it’s been 25 years or so), but it also wasn’t unbearable to watch.

Bottom Line – Mediocre thriller, very 80’s. Not great, not terrible.

Rating – BAFTA Worthy
