“Actually, I believe the term “shyster” is reserved for attorneys of the Jewish persuasion. I believe the proper term for me is “eggplant”. ” – Robert Clayton Dean
Number of Times Seen – at least 5 times (Theater in ’98, video, DVD and 10 Jun 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A Washington DC lawyer unwittingly gets involved in a government conspiracy.
My Take on it – I have always enjoyed conspiracy theory movies and this one is done extremely well.
Will Smith and Gene Hackman are both excellent here. The chemistry between the two is great and lasts in every scene they have together.
The script is great (even with it’s slight flaws) and the way things are tied together in the end is suburb.
This is the kind of thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. The characters are developed well enough that we find them likeable and interesting.
Bottom Line – Great thriller that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat while making us also care for the characters. Hackman and Smith are both excellent here. Highly Recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy

Definitely definitely agreed Rob! I LOVE this movie. Will Smith and Gene Hackman are an apparent dream-pairing. Wish they worked together again.
