Number of Times Seen – 2 (25 Nov 2007 and 25 Jul 2014)
Brief Synopsis – The Griswalds take another family vacation. This time to Las Vegas.
My Take on it – Sometimes movies that try to capitalize on success of its predecessor follow thru and sometimes they just give us a feeling of nostalgia.
This movie fits into the latter category. I was happy to revisit the Griswalds on a family vacation but I didn’t feel the fun of the original.
There are some really funny scenes but unfortunately in general it’s a tad better than mediocre.
The best scene IMHO is the alternative casino scene. There’s nothing funnier than betting on what number someone is thinking of or betting on a hand of ‘war’.
Randy Quaid once again steals every scene he’s in.
Bottom Line – Still not as funny as the original, but still has some hilarious bits. Love the alternative gambling casino. All is all tho, this is just slightly better than average.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

This isn’t bad, but it doesn’t match the lofty heights achieved by Harold Ramis and John Hughes.

Also, as far as Mr. Ellis dying and leaving his keno winnings with the Griswolds goes, I get that Clark winning would’ve been too easy of a happy ending, but for a stranger to pretend to die and leave it to them is worse!
