Brief Synopsis – A pauper dreams of a way to make children of all ages smile via the use of their imaginations.

My Take on it – This is a film that I fell ion love with the first time I saw it nearly two years ago and enjoy it more and more every subsequent time that I’ve had the pleasure to see it.

It is a story with a message about following your dreams until you find a way to realize them no matter how long it takes.

Hugh Jackman is superb in the title role and is able to make this character come alive as we watch him build up his circus.

His use of his talents of inspiration and persuasion work really well in showing how he was able to create what is now known as a circus.

The choice to tell this story as a musical is done exquisitely and it lets things play out so well along the way which in turn enhances the story and lets the viewer see this kind pf plot from a very different angle and perspective.

The way that this film deals with embracing those who are different from us and trying to find a way to make them equal is quite powerful and poignant especially when trying to show the way that these characters need to dig down deep within themselves in order to find out who they truly are.

The idea of judging a book by whats inside and not based solely on its cover is realized throughout this film and lets us see that it’s possible to discover one’s true potential once you forget about what is on the outside since what is on the inside is what is ultimately important and inspiring.

This is one of the best films of 2017 and might actually possibly be THE very best IMHO.

Bottom Line – Amazing story that shows how much one can achieve if they stick to their dreams. Jackman is superb in the title role and makes his character come to life as we watch him use his talents of inspiration to create what is now known as a circus. The film works so well as a musical and the various songs enhance the story so much because it allows the viewer to see things from a different perspective. The film deals with the idea of how one should embrace those who are different as you try to discover who you are deep down. The film is able to show the way that people need to look on the inside in order to discover someones true potential while accepting what is on the outside at the same time. One of the best films of 2017, if not THE best. Highly Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Hugh Jackman read some three dozen books on PT Barnum to prepare for the title role. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (no change from original review)
