This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!
“I remember when the future was a promise; now it’s like a threat.” – Ellie Parker
Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Aug 2020)
Brief Synopsis – A struggling actress in Hollywood meets a filmmaker by accident which changes everything for her.
Bottom Line – Strange story that shows the struggles of actors in Hollywood. The story plays out in a very quirky way that doesn’t work so well. The fact that this film was filmed bit by bit over the period of four years is quite apparent because hair styles and length constantly change which is quite humorous to see from a continuity perspective. Naomi Watts is fine here and none of the actors in the film really stand out in these roles because of the mediocre way that things move along. Great seeing Chevy Case in a very small role.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Naomi Watts and Scott Coffey shot additional footage to the original short version (Ellie Parker (2001)) over a process of five years. You can mainly tell which are new and old scenes due to Watts changing hair length. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
