Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)

rise of the planet of teh apes“[to Will] I swear, you know everything about the human brain except the way it works. ” – Steven Jacobs

Number of Times Seen – 2 (15 Nov 2011 and 28 Oct 2014)

Brief Synopsis – A scientist seeking a cure for Dementia and Alzheimer’s comes upon an even greater discovery that will change the world forever

My Take on it – I love when movies now a days try to make the premise seem somewhat plausible based on modern science.

This movie does a wonderful job of that.

I don’t believe that this will happen, but the important factor is that it could happen.

Special effects and motion capture have come to a point where most things onscreen can seem to look real if done properly.

The apes are completely computer generated but they seem to look and act like real apes.

Personally, I have never seen any of the original PotA movies, so I don’t really have what to compare this to, but I have had the displeasure of seeing the attempted reboot that failed back in 2001 with Mark Wahlberg.

This time, they got it right because this movie is so enjoyable to watch.

Bottom Line – This reboot was done so much better than the previous attempt. Amazing special effects really bring the Apes to life. Highly Recommended!

Rating – Oscar Worthy
