Along Came Polly (2004)

“It’s not about what happened in the past, or what you think might happen in the future. It’s about the ride, for Christ’s sake. There is no point in going through all this crap, if your are not going to enjoy the ride. And you know what… when you least expect something great might come along. Something better then you even planned for.” – Irving Feffer

Number of Times Seen – Twice (25 Jul 2004 and 22 Apr 2021)

Brief Synopsis – After his marriage breaks up on his honeymoon, an accountant trying to get back into the swing of things meets up with an old high school classmate and decides to pursue her romantically.

My Take on it – Hilarious rom-com that works so well due to the quirky chemistry between Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller.

The fact that these characters are such opposites makes it even better to watch them try and find a way for their relationship to work.

The characters are developed quite well and they give the audience a reason to care about everything that happens to them along the way.

The supporting cats is also great with Philip Seymour Hoffman,  Debra Messing, Hank Azaria, Alec Baldwin, Brian Brown, Michelle Lee and Bob Dishy all helping to make this story so much fun to watch unfold.

The dialogue is witty and helps ‘toe the line’ between comedy and drama the whole way through.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – According to an interview, Jennifer Aniston stated that the reasons she worked on this film was both to work with her friend Ben Stiller and to dance the salsa. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
