Brief Synopsis – When a new terror threat known as The Mandarin begins to cause chaos in the world, Tony Stark must find a way to stop him.

My Take on it – Iron Man has always been a fun character in the MCU and the way that Robert Downey Jr. has always played the character helps make things feel even more realistic.

This is a movie that works on numerous levels and the choice to dive deeper into the psyche of a man who chooses to live the life of a superhero as he must fight his inner demons why trying to keep the world safe.

Downey Jr. is superb in the title role and plays this character so well that it would be so difficult to even imagine someone else playing Iron Man at any point in time.

The action scenes in this film are presented really well and add to the suspense and thrills of it all.

The story itself plays out really interestingly and they find ways to deal with some very poignant and powerful issues that resonate so well throughout.

This gives us even more insight into how the life of a superhero isn’t necessarily an easy one and in effect they must deal with even more issues in life than a normal person would need to.

The movie has a “light” aura to it that helps make us keep things in perspective especially via the way that the characters interact with one another.

It also allows us to see that it seems as if they must have had so much fun making this film which is quite enjoyable to see.

Bottom Line – Another fun film in the Iron Man section of the MCU. This film actually works on numerous levels and allows us to get deeper into the psyche of a man like Stark who must battle his own demons while also trying to keep the world safe.  Downey Jr. once again does an amazing job in this role and have made it so unique that no one else will ever be able to play this character even close to what he has done with it. The action scenes in this film are really enjoyable to watch and it’s easy to see that they had so much fun making this movie.  The story plays out really well here and they find a way to deal with some very poignant and powerful issues that can affect someone living their life as a superhero. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Robert Downey, Jr. pushed to get Gwyneth Paltrow to have some action scenes, and producer Kevin Feige approved: “We are bored by the damsel in distress. But sometimes we need our hero to be desperate enough in fighting for something, other than just his own life. So, there is fun to be had with ‘Is Pepper in danger, or is she the savior?’ over the course of this movie.” (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10) (no change from original review)
