Brief Synopsis –After the Empire creates a super weapon, the scientist who created it gets word to the Rebellion that he has created it with a flaw so that they can destroy it.

My Take on it – My assumption is that most people are scratching their heads right now, trying to figure out how this movie fits into this months genre. The truth is that it was the first film that came to mind when I found out what the genre was. The scenes on Scarif are unlike any other battle scene in previous Star Wars films and they expertly use the beach nearby for both landing troops and for the ground battle itself.  I have always loved the way that they deal with multiple fronts of a battle in the Star Wars Universe so efficiently and constantly jump from one to another to show the far reaching aspects of each kind of battle. This film is no exception to that and during The Battle of Scarif, there is a ground battle taking place, a sky battle with Blue Wing, a space battle with the Rebellion trying to break thru the energy shield and finally, the small battle of Cassian, K-2SO and Jyn trying to make their way through the building to get the plans of The Death Star. The special effects in this film are quite amazing and the musical score helps enhance the importance of this kind of story and mission. The fledgling Rebellion is shown in a bit of a disarray since they cannot agree on a plan of action and that all works so well to help us get an idea of the climate at that time. AS you can probably tell, I truly LOVE this movie and can’t wait to see it again soon!

Highly Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Alan Tudyk initially turned down the role of K-2SO because the start of filming clashed with pre-production of his crowdfunded comedy series Con Man (2015). When Gareth Edwards told him that the filming was moved back by a month in July 2015, he agreed to join the production. To prepare for the role he took mask lessons with a New York-based mask teacher Orlando Pabotoy, to learn to express more through body language. He has since said that the role was one of the best he had worked on because it allowed him to wear a motion-capture suit on set along with the bonus of walking on 13-inch stilts. Tudyk filmed a brief scene where he appears as Wray Nerely, his character from “Con Man”, but it ended up getting deleted. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (no change from original review)
