Temporal Top Ten – 1999

1999 was an amazing year for movies and it’s also one of the few years when I agree with the 5 best picture nominees.

As you can see, they all appear on this list. #1, #3, #4, #6, and #8.

This is a rare feat for me to completely agree with the nominees but its solely because they actually got it right for a change that year.

#2 is one of the most intense and powerful documentaries that I’ve ever seen.

#5 is one of the best sequels ever made and is one of PIXAR’s best

#7 is the beginning of the second batch of films in a popular trilogy. Many think this one is terrible and ruins the series, but I still thoroughly enjoy it every time I watch it.

#9 is a very innovative film that has two mediocre sequels but some of the issues brought up in this one are among the best ideas in film history.

#10 is an amazing biopic that toes the line perfectly between being a comedy and drama and has the perfect lead actor to play that kind of role.

I have added three honorable mentions – a great modern conspiracy theory flick that has great twists and turns, a great political thriller which takes place entirely in on room, and an unbelievably funny Star Trek parody movie
